Description

This Martial Eagle is a captive bird looked after by the knowledgable falconers at Eagle Heights Raptor Centre in the south of England, UK. This bird has had to be flown with great care now as he has already responsible for dispatching an adult Red Fox and several Hares during public displays. The handlers are worried that it may attack and fly off with somebodies pet dog as there is a public path near the centre where people reguarly walk their dogs. This is a large Eagle about the same size as a Golden Eagle and a little bigger than a Bald Eagle but a lot more ferocious and powerful.

Taken with a 100-400L IS lens. 1/320th @ f/6.3 ISO 200.

Mark, this is a phenomenal capture! What a fantastic eagle (didn't realize this type of eagle existed) and I love the history that you gave us. Photos, to me, can mean so much without a story but when you add a story they take on that much more meaning. GREAT work!!! #3197386
