Description

f/8.0 1/200 04/12 16:21

I stole Susan's idea of stealing ideas and I stole this idea from Robin. It was inspired by Robin's photo of a flower in front of a softbox. Here I used the poor-man's softbox (the sun). I tried editing out the junk in the background but because it's already so surreal with this backlighting I wanted to keep a true feel to this photo so I left the background features.
For editing I used a technique I created a duplicate later. On the top layer I ran auto levels, on the bottom level I used the slider bar in levels to increase the darkness in the shadows. Then I went back to the top layer and reduced opacity. I reduced the blue in levels. Unsharpen masked on two layers removing the mask from the background.
