A Northern Hawk Owl captured in the middle of a hard turn, handheld with a 400mm F5.6 L Canon lens.. F8, 1/1600 iso 400
In the winter of 2004/2005 there was a major invasion of Northern Owls such as the Great Gray, Northern Hawk, Boreal and Snowy Owls.... This Northern Hawk Owl was found in February in the Rice Lake NWR in Northern Minnesota he was sitting in a short Pine right along the road and periodically he would fly out and hover over a spot while hunting... these owls hunt during the day and can move very fast
