My Dream for You

Description

ISO 100, f/7.1, 1/125 This was my first time to try to incorporate appropriate seating for a grandfather. I knew they wanted pictures of he and his granddaughter together. He wouldn't be able to hold her comfortably on a stool so I used one of my bigger leather chairs. I put a background light behind the chair, bounced light into a reflector on camera right and used the big softbox on camera left. Also, burned the corners. This is my friend's father who was just diagnosed with cancer and was to start chemo the next day. She knew once he started chemo he would not be feeling well so we pulled this together in 2 days. He did not want to have his picture made so I wanted to make him as comfortable as possible. We also took some really nice shots of him reading a book to her, playing with her favorite toy, and snuggling. I just love the connection in this shot.
