A very precious photo and a great lesson in the use of shallow DOF to keep that baby where he belongs...the center of attention :-) #174472

Yes Jim, he is very adorable, but entering your own photos in your own photo contest? What's up with that? Leave it to a parent to do just about anything to show off their babies. And don't you think the lighting is a little strong? Could be toned down just a little for a softer feel.

I AM JUST KIDDING! I thought a little payback would eb fun for all those comments you made while I was taking your course.)

What a great photo! I love the many shades of blue, and the motion of the sand falling down. It is indeed a memory frozen in time!

How adorable can one little boy get;)
You must be having so much fun with him that I don't know how you can get any work done! #211879

Jim Miotke My Courses September 26, 2003

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. He certainly is so fun to be with - I have noticed a slight dip in my work productivity ;-)

The past couple of days (in late September), he has been into wearing his Halloween costume - a furry full body puppy dog, complete with a stuffed animal of a doggies face on top of the hood. He is a little early this year but all the same, he is too cute! I will photograph it against a white backdrop and upload the result as soon as possible.

Thanks again for your comments, everyone. #212600

Jim,
From a dad of three who are grown and married:
First take every moment you can with them, they grow up too quick as what he probably looks like now and this photo! They are a great gift from God for too short a time in your home.
Second, a great capture of a great model!!
Keep looking up!

Jim,
8 months later and I still love it!
We recently took daughter and grandkids to beach...one a little younger than this, he had a great time sitting right at wave edge feeling and watching water. So fun to see them have fun!!
