Description

It seemed very appropriate to me to be posting this picture of a young flamingo today, Jan 10th - the anniversary of the beginning of majority rule (1969)in the Bahamas, with the flamingo being our national bird. The country was still under the rule of the British Commonwealth and became independent (transformed!) on July 10th 1973. The Queen is still recognized as Head of the Commonwealth, with a Governor General appointed to represent her here.
Photo taken at the Ardastra Gardens Zoo, Nassau, last week. RAW, post processed in PS7. Category: Monthly theme.
