Description

A village shopkeeper selling Indian spices. How happy and contented looking he is? No customer, still happy because he is being photographed. I took this picture 18 long years ago in a small village near Varanasi.

It certainly is a great shot. I love all those colours of the spices. I trust he or someone else is still around selling in a shop like this and will be for years to come. It would be a travesty to see a supermarket in his place. #2250272

Paul Michko January 04, 2006

18 years ago - WOW! History indeed has
been recorded in this wonderful image
Rakesh. Love the expression on his face, & all the colorful spices. That's what camera's are to me, (recorders of history, & split seconds of life) as I told my husband -they are a time catcher, kinda' like a time machine. To me, they are the greatest of inventions!! :) #2252050
