A Site for Sore Eyes

Uploaded: December 29, 2005

Description

What a trio
our cameras pointed at Mr. Hood
watching and hoping.

He had the camera of my dreams
I had the eyes of her dreams
She had the dog dreams are made of.

She could still see the colors
but not her camera controls.

I took pictures with
her camera & my own.

He explained Mr. Hood seldom
does spectacular sunset shows.

She turned to me
"If I wake up totally blind,
this is one of the days I know
I will see forever."

Yes, I still talk to & collect
strangers in coffee shops.
I cherish the surprise.

The story: My daughter and I started talking to her in a coffee shop ... next thing she knows ... she's touring the must see locations before and after the Guide Dog graduation she came to attend ... let me tell you ... it was a day for all to remember! #366233

It's no boquet of straws and a beer bottle, but I like it! :-)

The story makes the photo. #2239807

LOL hey ... don't knock it ... this pic and my struggles to get something presentable out of it ...

PLUS ... that goofing off day for Billy ... which created a photography crazed programmer ... who has gone out trying to shoot night shots ... which he swears he'll post ... some are really good ... but he keeps asking his reallllllly irritable, cold, frustrated coach "Why is it so grainy! ... But can't I gain anymore control over it?" ... to which he hears "not with that piece of uh crud" ... anyway ... all of this combined ...

Alright roll the drums ...

I'm getting a new camera !!!!

WoooWHOOOoooo

And If God allows us such grace and mercy ... March 1st we're hitting the road ... Pick-up and tent and dog and us !!

And my writing voice is returning (it always goes mute when I go through huge loss ... well until I let it write about the loss) so I will be doing a January eZine!!

So ... bring on the new year!! But Gentle and Sweet PLEASE!

Have fun!

Hey Sharon! I was just talkng about you ... I'm pulling the old "so... but really ... how many images really are in that photo" on Abby (see her "Fast Food Stop" in critique). I just told her about what you and Protacio got me started on with that lake, bridge and birds pic! (I put a link to it in her thread).

Thanks for the New Year's blessing ... I wish the same for you ... it's a very good blessing.

And ... sigh ... the camera seems to be back on hold for another month ... seems that he was going to try to forego new glasses ... i'm putting my foot down ... he's got to have new glasses, now!!

But probably I'll go for the Nikon 8700 ... i'm very fond of the optical zoom and so far ... for the money ... it's the best i've found ... at least on paper. I'm open to being contradicted on that though!

I'm so relieved that you are happy with yours! I promise to tell you when I write my zine ... sometime this week. I think I'm going to write about letting life change on a dime.

have fun,
me

I like it, It has the look of those old color postcards from the catskills.

Hmm ... I'd love to meet ya'll. Our Sat am is full already ... i'll drop you a note. I've started missing the Hudson Valley very much. Not that I'm complaining mind you ... just want it all! We went up the Appalachian trail just a bit last Sat. That was heavenly!

Thanks for the comment ... it reminded me ... when I was working on this image, I kept being reminded of some aged canvas painting that was at my grandmother's but for the life of me ... I have no idea what image was on the canvas! isn't that wild?

ttyl,
