American Pride
Uploaded: December 19, 2005
Throughout our trip to the States we were constantly aware of how proud everyone was to fly the flag. It is quite rare to see the Union Jack in the UK. And the only time we see the English flag of St George is when there is a football world cup.
We saw the eagle at the National Eagle Centre in Wabasha, Minnesota. He was attached to his keeper's hand and glove. The idea I had in my head was a good reason for me to finally try using layers in photoshop and this is my first attempt.

Pretty image and great tribute, Kate! Also, nice work with the layering! #2198959Richard W. Wyeth December 19, 2005
Nice work Kate, neat layering. Well Done!
Being English I would have to say, perhaps another look would reveal that there are very many of us that fly St. Georges Cross, as we are very proud, as you are of your flag. We don't often fly the Union Jack as you rightly point out, but then why would I, an Englishman, want a flag with a scottish element to it? And for the Scottish vice versa. As I am always keen to point out to all, I am English not British. So you see we are very proud!
Continue your great work! #2199000

Thanks so much everyone for your comments. Richard, nice to meet you! Maybe it is just around here in Essex we do not see any English flags unless, as I say there is an Enlish team football match when they are everywhere. The only other time I see one is on church towers on St George's Day. Also I disagree about the Union Jack. I do happen to be proud that we are joined with Scotland and Wales and think we make a great team even though some Scottish and Welsh people might disagree. #2199094Rakesh Syal December 19, 2005
