Description

I watched this heron yank a mole from the muck, then drop it several times in the water and swish it around. Then lunch!

Thanks, Gord. It was really just luck. Set my camera to high speed and waited for something to happen. #11692479

Incredible timing, Christine, and I love the story! No one likes a dirty mole for lunch! I'd call it a carefully planned and executed image; certainly not luck! Outstanding work and results. #11692518

Thank you, Tammy, Martha, Ann, and Jean! I appreciate the comments! It was interesting because off camera 3 herons stood watching the action. #11692549

Well don't sell yourself short. It still took a controlled camera work to get this amazing shot. I think that mole is not going to get away. Beautiful colors, a Nat Geo scene done with that quality of work Christine.. #11692691

Leslie, Chuck, Patrick, John, and Frank, thank you! And Chuck, the other herons didn't get a chance to share! After about the 5th bath, the poor mole was gulped down. But the audience was definitely intrigued. Thanks again everyone! #11692699
