The Departure- Part One

Uploaded: November 08, 2017 | Entered: November 08, 2017 13:55:41

Description

aperture, shutter, lens, location, name, time
Shooting into the sun for back light, I wanted to show how desolate the beach can be in October. I like the look of the black and white, the seclusion and that barren land look.
What category to use? At first I was going with nature and landscape but as I wanted the focus to be on the people, that is the category I will enter it in.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/1000 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 31.01 mm, Model: Canon PowerShot SX160 IS

You succeeded beautifully Frank! The back lighting sets the scene for that harsh barren look. Love the B&W. #1699144

Excellent use of light and b&w processing to create the feeling of isolation and barrenest!! Also love what I think are oil riggs off in the distance!! Wonderful work Frank!! #11656324

Outstanding image, Frank! Love the perspective, the expansive and perhaps lonely feeling of the beach, interesting line of grass and dunes. Can't wait to see part 2! #11656625
