Description

This is from December 2015, long before Hurricane Irma devastated St. John and destroyed the Caneel Bay Resort. Caneel Bay was a perfect place. It was a big property with more than a half-dozen beaches, and a relatively small number of rooms. On most days that I was there, I had a beautiful beach to myself for a few hours in the morning. This shot was taken about 50 feet from the bed in my room on Scott Beach. Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM @ 24mm, f/11, 0.7 seconds.
