Description

I chose the timing for our recent mountain getaway to correspond with the new moon, so I could work on my star photography. From my last attempt, I learned to shorten the exposure to prevent tiny star trails, and this time around I learned to do a manual focus on a planet to get a good sharp focus lock. For some reason using infinity on the lens is not reliable anymore!

Can you explain reason about using infinity on the lens is not reliable to you? #11627228

Here is a very good description of the issue and some solutions. I strongly recommend trying different options with you camera and don't assume that what works for one lens works for all lenses. If possible, review shots on the computer mud-shoot to confirm the focus. http://leyetscapes.com/edu/infinity-focus.html #11627251
