Deep in Thought

Description

Since photography is defined as 'writing with light', my goal this week was to try low-key lighting emphasizing my subject in a dramatic way while keeping the majority of the image dark. This is my new favorite image of my husband as it embodies his finest qualities: patience, always thoughtful & warm, & a well rounded spiritual man you can't help but love! I took this image in a completely dark room. I placed an off camera flash behind the subject w/ a small diffuser attached. There was a bit of trial & error in getting an even light all around. Very little processing was needed except I warmed up the light, which seemed fitting for the subject. My settings were F11 ss1/8 iso 100 @60mm used OCF on manual @1/2 power.
