Description

Probably the first time I've ever asked a stranger to enter my composition! I saw her red coat in the distance off to the side as I was composing; she and her boyfriend stepped into frame, but sort of sideways, half facing me. As they walked past me, I asked if I could "borrow" her, and placed her this way in the scene.
This is inside San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice; this is the church you most often see in the well-loved compositions of moored bobbing gondolas in the foreground, and a white-facade church across the water in the background.
