I think its a Wooly Bear Caterpillar.
This is the legend: The Woolly Bear caterpillar has 13 distinct segments of either rusty brown or black. The wider the rusty brown sections (or the more brown segments there are), the milder the coming winter will be. The more black there is, the more severe the winter. #1672454

Wow, what a nice macro shot, Emile! And thank you, Candace for the info on the Wooly Bear Caterpiller! I don't think I have ever hear of the weather prediction with this little guy! Look out meteorologist!! Your job may be taken by a...worm! Excellent presentation, Emile. <>< #11532786

Great macro, Emile! We hear Texas should have a mild winter, due to "La Nina"? Not sure about Mr. wooly? #11532841

I do think it is a Wooly Bear, but not the variety I remember loving to find when I was growing up, VERY well done!! <>< #11532856
