Oculus

Description

The centerpiece of the newly opened World Trade Center Transit Hub is the great hall known as The Oculus, designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is an incredible, breath-taking, soaring bright space, and I only wish everyone taking the train into Manhattan for the first time had to exit here, instead of the slap-in-the-face that is today's Penn Station.
Standing at the east end, the skylight frames a view of the new One World Trade Center tower. I used a 10-stop filter, resulting in a 73-second exposure, to blur out most of the crowds of people, except the persistent "stand-still" folks ;)
