Cleanup After A Meal

Uploaded: September 13, 2016 | Entered: September 13, 2016 11:38:42

Description

This praying mantis was waiting patiently for little yellow moths to land in an area where I had recently watered the flowers. The moths were after the moisture, and the mantis was after the moths. I used my Canon 100-400 mm L lens with a 21mm extension tube attached. Settings were f7.1, 1/1250, ISO 400, hand held.

Love praying mantises! Great capture! Wish I'd get one in my yard -- only 2x in 30 years! #11516965

Thank you, Katherine. I don't see them all that often. Some years ago when I didn't have the equipment or the knowledge for macro shots that I do now, I saw a bunch of tiny little baby ones on our azalea bushes! I would love to see them now. <>< #11517021
