Details in the Eyes

I used an off camera flash fastened onto a bracket, extending it out to near the end of my 100 mm L macro lens. I used a paper towel as a diffuser. Settings were f9.5, 1/125, ISO 250. I also talked to the dragonfly, telling it what pretty eyes it had, and that seemed to calm him to stay and be photographed.

WOW! This is macro photography on a whole other level than I can take. VERY WELL DONE! #11498124Shirley D. Freeman July 23, 2016
Wow, thanks Kirsten! I am not sure I am worthy of such a compliment. The setup that I use is relatively cheap and easy, so the only other secret that I have is, that I talk softly to the dragonfly or other tiny subject to keep them calm. I don't like to scare them, and I am sure a human being and equipment coming at them must be overwhelming. Thanks again to all of you for viewing and for your kind comments. I do appreciate them. <>< #11498181Rudi Reiner July 24, 2016
