Sacre Couer Majestic

Description

Before departure of our River Cruise to Normandy we had a full day to tour one or more areas of Paris. We chose Montmatre since, when we'd last seen the area, it was raining in buckets.

Sacre Couer is the most beautiful basilica I've visited and, as I indicated for another picture of it in my gallery, it just too bad one cannot take pictures inside.

This image was taken in the light of a simply magnificent morning. The deep blue sky was achieved as the result of the angle of the sun and a polarizer. Exposure info.: f/10, 1/500 sec, ISO 400, focal length 33 mm.

The Monochrome version appears in my Educational Program entitled "The Magic of Monochrome." In this program the audience is asked to consider whether they like the color or monochrome version of the images presented more. I can't decide whether I like the color version more [in this instance] because of the deep blue of the sky. In the monochrome, it's black! #11486914
