Description

The skies opened up and shed tears for all of the innocents exterminated in the Jasenovac Death Camp (WWII) while I shot this photo. One of the kind Partisans in these homes pulled my father from the icy, flooded river in December 1944. He had become a "Forgotten 500" -- an AirCorpsman behind Nazi lines. MIA.

Thanks Teresa... It was an amazing day for a girl from Indiana... Dad was MIA for 5 weeks, dodging the Nazi's, eating pig slop, sleeping with rats and mice and fleas and lice. The people in these houses would have been tortured and killed if the Nazi soldiers found out that they were helping Allied soldiers. #11470078
