Named for Saint Jean-Paul II, a former pope, the Square stretches along a relatively narrow strip between the Seine River and Notre Dame Cathedral. A paved walkway, which appears to have been a service road, takes up a big portion of this section. The park expands at the back of the cathedral, where the most trees and benches are located.
