In the war years, a rich English banker took his business from London to his family manor in the country to protect it from being bombed. This is the typing pool set up at Upton House, and the setting still remains today of that of the war period.

Love this black and white and it was interesting to read about the steps taken to get the information out and in a safe place. It may look quite simple but I bet some of the most important information went out here. A beautiful retro look you got here Debbie. #11400395Mary K. Robison November 18, 2015
Great choice of b&w to give this that historic look, Debbie. I wouldn't want to have worked in such an open, noisy space like that.John Benway November 18, 2015

I had cousins who worked in this sort of setting & it was just on TV in the "Cilla" special. Black & White really suits this wonderful image. What a great reminder=^..^= #11401345Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
