American Beautyberry

The berries of Callicarpa Americana, also called dwarf mulberry and beautybush. It is used medicinally and as food for wildlife and people. Native Americans had many uses for it. Roots, leaves, and berries became the base for teas and other medications for many common ailments. Crushed berries were rubbed on the skin to repel mosquitoes. In modern times, ranchers have used it on cattle and horses to repel flies.
