Nice catch of a wonderful bird. This is a Nazca or Masked Boobie and native or the Galapagos Islands. There are actually 6 different species of Boobies, most notably the blue footed boobie, which I'm sure you saw. :-) #1629461

Thanks Cindy and Emile. Cindy thank you for the info on the different kinds of boobies. I saw many of the red and blue footed varieties and had forgotten the name of this one. I really loved the Galapagos and the ability to get close to these special birds. #11376120
