Keen Ice, a longshot at 16-1 odds with only 1 previous win, pulled an upset and beat American Pharaoh, Triple Crown winner, in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Racetrack on August 29, 2015. With this surprise finish, Saratoga upheld its image as the graveyard of champions. Known informally as the 4th leg of the Triple Crown, the Travers stakes has been won by only one Triple Crown champion, Whirlaway, in 1941.
