Mt. Warning.

This mountain is a volcanic plug, and it was named by Lieutenant James Cook during his voyage up the east coast of Australia. The rock is estimated to be over 23 million years old.
Due to Mount Warning's proximity to Cape Byron, the Australian continent's easternmost point, it is the first place on mainland Australia to receive the sun's rays each day.
The aboriginal name for this mountain was Wollumbin, and it is the central volcanic remnant of an ancient shield volcano. These days it is surrounded by picturesque fields of sugar cane, and is wonderful dairy country.
I captured this scene back in May 2004 on my first 3mp camera.
