Alone

Description

This wood duckling hatched later than the others and found itself in the water alone. I heard peeping and went to investigate. I took a few photos and then watched from the house. An hour and a half later the mother flew to a nearby tree, made a few clucks and the duckling raced for the shoreline. Mom flew down to the water and rescued her offspring. This story had a happy ending.
