Australian Flooded Gum Tree.

The tree at the end of the walkway, is New South Wales tallest known tree. It is estimated to be approximately 400 years old, and has a height of 86m or 282 feet, and its girth is 8.5m or 28 feet. This photo was taken 10 years ago, so I guess it would be a bit taller now.
It is located in the Bulahdelah State Forest, which is now controlled by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Extraordinary sight, John. I guess "flooded" is part of the name of the tree? If so, why did it get that name? #11317541Mary K. Robison June 13, 2015

They had some Australian Blu Gum's in California and they are so tall. I wrote a fiction story about them and entered it into a contest for Carve Magazine. Announcements for winner and runner ups come the first of August. Fingers crossed, great shot John! #11318163John Connolly June 15, 2015
