Description

Kabini, the land of Asiatic elephants holds a very significant place in the hearts of every nature lover. River Kapila (or Kabini) that originates from Kerala as a confluence of Mananthavadi and Panamaram joins mother Cauvery in Karnataka at T.Narsipura. The huge Kabini reservoir is part of Nagarahalole National park and its backwaters form a seamless current next to rich grasslands, making a habitation for largest population of Asian elephants. Here is a majestic march from a herd of elephants, led (apparently) by their leader. As they marched, the Parrot-Green grassbeds gave a befitting colour in contrast to the dark forest trees at the far end! This frame reinforces the sentiment of how Animals are so interwoven with their habitats...the blend of their existence seems undisputed!
