Thanks Jeff! Actually this time of year, the Elk lose their antlers. We've never seen it in the 9 yrs we've lived in CO. It was so amazing to see. We found about 8-9 bulls, most with just 1 antler. This one was huge, about 5 ft in height to shoulder, and he was bleeding. We assume he'd just lost the antler, and he was quite annoyed with the one left as well. It doesn't hurt, supposedly, it's like a vein just under skin... I think. We've seen them shed velvet, but never the antler.... it was a great surprise, as we're rarely in the mountains in winter. #11277261
