Description

***
Taken in Naples, Italy, a number of years ago, late one afternoon. I was startled by the sight of this hearse, whose horses trotted through the intersection so fast, I barely had time to turn on my camera and shoot this photo.

It was definitely an eye-catcher, Avril. I couldn't speak enough Italian to ask if this was how all the wealthy people go to the grave, or this person was particularly rich...

This sure is an impressive sight, Mary.
What a scene to catch. I've never seen anything like it and I've been in Italy a lot.
It looks like the hearse is made of gold.
I would say someone very rich or someone very important to the rich died.
Thanks for sharing this interesting piece of culture. #11232387

Hi, Kiki!
Thanks for stopping in with your always-friendly comments. I'm glad I can finally share photos from Europe, which were originally taken as slides. They've been waiting for My Better Half to give me a portable scanner, enabling me to download the converted images via a memory card. This shot has always been a favorite because of its unique subject. I'm glad you "like" it, too! #11232443
