She walked into our lives

Uploaded: December 16, 2014 | Entered: December 16, 2014 20:09:34

Description

My precious Skeetie, which walked into our lives some 8 years ago when we rescued her from a life of abuse. She was left in our yard to die, half-starved to the point you could see every rib and beaten so badly her jaw was broken. My husband tried numerous times to try to get to her to help her, but she would run from him. It was when I walked out into the yard and spoke to her that she came running to me and climbed into my arms and my heart forever. We lost her last Wednesday when she lost her battle with cancer. But the footprints she left on our hearts will remain forever.

What a beautiful shot of your precious girl, Doris. How lucky for you that she walked into your lives the way she did and she couldn't have chosen a better home. You gave her the best life any dog could hope for, one filled with love and tender care. I'm so sorry for your loss but know that the memories of sweet Skeetie will be with you forever. #1600718

The story is both terribly sad and terribly beautiful, Becky. I am so sorry she's not with you now, but in spirit I know she always will be. And I know she'd wish for you sometime to give that love to another who needs so badly to be saved. #11208394

I am so sorry you lost your beautiful Skeetie Becky. I know how much our pets add to our lives and the utter sense of loss when its time for them to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She had the opportunity to spend 8 wonderful years with you - what a blessing for you both. This image of her frolicking in the snow is wonderful and heartwarming capture! #11222512
