When you said, "killer image", you weren't kidding. The monkeys themselves form such an eye catching composition. Wonderful detail, tones, and presentation.

This really is an extraordinary image, Nikki. The little one is so naturally bright in the frame, surrounded by the mom's protective body. And the fact that they are both directly considering you, is just perfect.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm - what a joy this was to watch. I darkened the background considerably but did little to the mother and child. I stood there a long time and got several shots I like a lot - you'll probably see at least one more in the future (it has a bit more attitude on the part of both subjects :) )

Perfect in every way --composition and framing and an ideal square format, lighting, contrast between the baby's face and the darker background, sharpness and details. This pulls at my heart strings because your timing and their expressions are perfect as well.
Congratulations on your theme win, Nikki. Hope this goes all the way with a major BP win as well.
