Benched

Description

Back to last week's high school football game. The team's star QB suffered a concussion in the first period and was benched. The second string QB was nowhere at the level of #10, and the team lost soundly.
-------------
I shot this with my partner's "second string" camera and since it was extremely dark on the sidelines, the noise level was unacceptable. But I loved this shot so tried rescuing it using Topaz's new Impression Plugin with a "charcoal" preset and a lot of slider play. None of the EXIF information is available.

The frustration is evident, but given the circumstances I'm glad he was pulled out of the game. Well done! #1591142

One picture is worth a 1000 words and you got every one of them with this image. Love it. #11160309

Agree with the above comment wholeheartedly. You can see the despair and disappointment in his body language and facial expression. You are so good at capturing in-the-moment photos and the emotion of the moment - why hasn't a local TV station/newspaper snatched you up???!!! #11160338

You've done a fantastic job of capturing the emotions of a star player knowing he cannot help his team!! About houses being a money sink, the original part of our house is 128 years old and is due for major box gutter work plus a new porch roof. Ouch! #11160626
