I've learned a great deal since my visit to the Buddhist Temple last Monday . The Internet is such a useful tool!
There are several types of Buddha statues. Each can be identified by its pose. This is the Blessing Buddha, which depicts Buddha bestowing fearlessness and compassion.
Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Another Awesome entry, Mare. It puts me right back to where we stood together having fun with settings and flashes, etc. :)))) I did this one in WILD DDR form later in the day back at the old lappy! HeeHee...You will see it later in the month. It might be too much of a shock. HeeHee... You did a wonderful job here and I can feel the confidence and compassion of this image and statue. They were very gracious people there too, weren't they?! -Pondering Pommy #11152754Mary K. Robison October 06, 2014
Hi, Pom. Yes, the visit to the monastery was enlightening, and I don't mean just the Buddha's frequent connection with enlightenment. I'm looking forward to your DD interpretations of the countless things we saw, especially the monk with the modern handheld device. (Don't want to be a total spoiler on that!) Gracious people, indeed. If only more people had that calm, respectful approach to life and others...including me! #11152812Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
