Description

The Umpqua River Light is a lighthouse on the Oregon Coast of the United States, located at the mouth of the Umpqua River on Winchester Bay, in Douglas County, Oregon. Originally the first lighthouse in the Oregon territory. It was built near the mouth of the river. It was undermined and destroyed by flood in February of 1864. Construction started on a new light in 1892, and it was first lit in 1894. It shines a guiding light to all mariners.
