Thank Brad for the comment. That was the hardest part of this photo was balancing the dark shadows of the waterfall with the bright sun off the mossy rocks. I did not want to have to use HDR and so I worked the dynamic range as best as possible and did some balancing of tones and brightness in post processing.

I like using HDR for a lot of situations but sometimes in nature landscape shots it can create unrealistic looking results. #11110276

True, I see that a lot too. However if I am on tripod I will always bracket to give myself the option. Many times I have taken the sky from HDR and used the single shot to combine. #11110280
