Description

We were kayaking on the Pembina and various other rivers flooded by spring run-off around Entwistle, Alberta, Canada. This was one of kayak club's last runs of the day, and I chose to scale the banks of the river to take photos. The river was flowing so quickly, it was difficult to time the photo for composition. The early spring landscape was very brown overall. But, I was pleased with the parellel paddles and the diverse expressions of the kayakers. I love the motion of the water and that the front of the lead kayak is swamped. I would like to try this shoot again with more knowledge of shutter speed for enhancing the feel of motion and the power of the water. I used a 200mm lense and my camera's automatic sport setting.
