Vets without Homes

----
Ironically, I had just come from photographing a Red Cross-sponsored Veterans' Fair at City Hall (Philadelphia), and was walking up Broad Street. As I left the Fair, the clouds had burst and people were heading for shelter. The group that was manning the WaWa food kiosk at the Fair had handed me three or four sandwiches. I ate one and stashed the rest.
-----
Several blocks away from City Hall, I spotted this group across the street and shot this photo. Then I crossed over to ask the men if I could use their photo for the Red Cross.
------
Then I realized that they were homeless veterans and offered them the rest of the WaWa sandwiches--the ones WaWa sells for $4 in their stores. The guys were very appreciative and told me how their dog had found the last victim when the Salvation Army store uptown had collapsed suddenly.
