Getting a decent hummer shot has been on my bucket list for a long time :) Terrific positioning and focus in this beauty, Gerri.

There's a monthly thread in the open forums called the "Countdown" thread. Through the years it's been hosted by a number of people, just now by member Ken Smith. It's a friendly thread where BP contestants congregate on line to share their own personal favorites from among their previous month's entries and to chat during the wait for the end of the month and the announcement of Staff Favorites, Finalists and Winners. Thank You Nikki! They were on my bucket list too, so I decided to research it a bit on the best technique since I have a family of hummers at my feeders. You basically have to set up a small studio with flash outside and I have tried a few other backgrounds behind my feeder as well...challenging, but a lot of fun. I am using three off camera flash and firing remote....still playing with settings and the lighting changes so quickly it is not easy. It started pouring raining out of nowhere and I had to scramble to get everything inside! LOL :) Appreciate the comment and info on the forum. I'll take a look :) #11087784
