Yesterday I heard chirping as I sat outside taking macro photos. When I looked up, I saw Mama Bird feeding her "baby" on the antenna less than 20 feet away. I quickly removed my macro lens, zoomed up, snapped three shots, then watched them fly away. I was very lucky that both birds were so focused on the feeding they didn't notice my movements down below.

I loved the story Mary because we all have been in that situation where you never knew when you would loose the sight and the picture. So we shoot as fast as we can and hope we will have at least that one that comes through. You did that here and got some beautiful results. Nature finds a way to fit in with we humans for sure. What perfect execution you had here! :D Great job, Mare!

I feel so terrible about the fires in your area. All the people, birds, animals, bugs EVERYONE that is homeless or hurt or didn't make it. Last we heard there were no fatalities of people or pets (and there was awesome banding together and team work) but what about all the precious wild life? Who will help them and how many didn't make it or got separated from their loved ones? It breaks my heart.

Hello, Pom! Thanks for stopping by.
Every year during "fire season" (which seems to grow longer and longer, just as the brush and trees grow drier and drier), Scott and I wonder who the arsonist was THIS time...
Regardless of the cause, inevitably houses burn to the ground, and people's lives turn upside down, from loss of one thing and/or another --- and it's so tragic. And there is never a year when that doesn't happen at least once. And it breaks my heart, too... :-(
