Birds on a Very Large Birdbath

*****
This is the view from the second level of the birdbath centerpiece in yesterday's entry.
Because I wanted to show the details on these artificial birds, I cropped the original severely. I'll post the original, slightly cropped, to show the scale of the birds.

WOW! They're huge!!And you cropped it perfectly, Mary.
This was the first image that caught my attention and it is BEAUUUUUUUTIFUL.
A great photo opportunity and you made it great - with perfect focus and wonderful colors.
P.S. I see you have more new entries and I will come see them later in the week. I'm still overthetop busy and for 4 more weeks. #11041657

What a fantastic find, unbelievable the size of this bird bath. It is so unique in its size, its beauty. I love the crop job you did here Mary and you kept the picture so clear and colorful. Those birds are amazing, Love the water and how it looks. This has certainly given you one gorgeous series, each picture so beautiful in its colors, looks, and presentation. Love them all dear friend. You have a wonderful weekend, take care. #11041817Mary K. Robison May 10, 2014
Glad you like it, Barbara, Kiki, and Frank. Thanks very much for commenting.Barbara ~ That would be a kick to come around the corner and see one this size in the middle of the yard...
Kiki ~ I definitely understand your sense of "overthetop busy". Just skip commenting on my photos until you eventually have "free" time, OK? OK!
Frank, thanks so much for all your kind and friendly words about the centerpiece series. Forgive me when my comments are shorter--- too many things happening around the homestead lately! #11042900

Isn't it amazing the details in these perfect displays. Talk about beautiful draftsmanship!I was trying to get my bearings here as on the lower right I think I see a bakery or something? So you were on a higher floor shooting into the big tall 2 or 3 story display?
What a fun day it must have been! I'd have been in camera heaven, as I know you were, too!!!
Thank you for showing us these beauties!

Pom, you got it right: the Central Garden Display is always two stories high. Every year I shoot it from several angles while on the first floor. When I get up to level two, I look for an open area among the flower stands where I can squeeze in and get closeups of the top's details.Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
