Oh, Mare! This is so California.

You know we don't realize it as much when we live there but California has some of the most unusual and beautiful succulents of anywhere around. People don't realize until they see them in person how breakable and watery they are inside...really special looking, too, like this one!!! Wonderful job.

I have been feeling homesick lately. You know...The basic stuff. Missing the weather and landscapes, trees, plants, running around in shorts while other poor saps are wearing winter clothes in far off Northern Lands. Now I am that poor sap stuck in the tundra of snow in heavy clothes just to empty the garbage... HeeHee...

No bit of a joke, look what I just found in the Websters dictionary online.

Definition of TUNDRA SWAN

: a native North American swan (Cygnus columbianus) that has a soft high-pitched call, breeds in the Arctic tundra, and winters in shallow fresh or salt water especially along the eastern and western coasts of the United States —called also whistling swan

Does this mean I will be on the beach soon, whistling away?? A girl can dream!:D

Love your gallery that reminds me of home.

Lulu says the sweetest things, Mary!
This is a most unusual succulent, I will agree, not real sure I have seen it before. Best of luck with it, Mary. #11014681

A beautiful find Mary. I love the title as this is what the plant looks like it is doing, a lovely and graceful dance. Love the curve. Gorgeous color contrast with the green of the background. Love the details, the composing and framing. A beauty dear friend. Take care and enjoy the day. #11014726

Tiia, Avril, Pom, Debbie, Jeff, Colette, Tammy, Frank,, Joy, Nancy, John, and Carol ~ thanks, everyone, for your supportive and friendly words. Glad you like it!
Pom, re: "Does this mean I will be on the beach soon, whistling away?" I wish I could lift your winter-worn spirits and homesickness with a boxful of warm sand and a cold glass of whatever you'd enjoy most, but such cannot be done.
But hang in there. Spring HAS to get to Canada sometime soon!

The future will be bitter sweet. Whenlittle Fangy passes waway (that is the bitter part) then I willbe free to travel again and see my native land. (That is the sweet part). Until then I rejoice in the long suffering. In the back of my Bible it says that "Long Suffering" means Patiently Enduring. A young boy (River Phoenix) recently said, in a Harrison Ford movie called, "The Mosquito Coast", (Loosely quoted) That learning to be a Christian is to learn to be at peace with mundane chores and living. I found solace in that. Winter is 6 to 8 months long here. A bit much. ;) #11015445

Pom, just continue to love your little Fangy every chance you get. And remember to make movies with your digital camera. Watching them(as I've learned with Riley's movies)--- THAT is bittersweet...
But God takes away, AND He gives. You will come back to California, however briefly, and we will finally meet face-to-face. Think of all the selfies we can take! ;-D #11015457

Ooo! California SELFIES with MARE! Okay now I will go to sleep happy.

I have movies of Lucky (Our Tuxedo kitty that passed 3 years ago.) When he was young. They are so brief and were taken at our first house here. He lived in 3 homes with us! :))) Lived to be 18. I wish I had done more. Fangy is old and limping now. Dare I do that at this stage? He is still beautiful at any age, right? I should do this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Night night, and Thank You.
