He went that-a-way

Speaking of creative artistry, I'd have to take this to a higher level, Dale. The street photography is interesting, but the half-vehicle doesn't offer anything of interest. I'd love to see it with a black background. I love the title for the street shot, and would title it something else if you decide to go for the classy portrait. I really like this and would also love to see the whole sculpture out of curiosity. What is the title of the piece and where is it?

Hi Susan. This is one of a number of statues that are in downtown Phoenix and it is so difficult to isolate them unless I use a flash and high speed sync to turn the background black.

Will give your suggestion a try. Don't have this one as a full figure but there are many more in my blog at dalehardin..com #11010361

Is this what you had in mind, Susan. If so, I like it. #11011167

I have not been to Phoenix but am wondering if this bronze is a work by the famous sculptor John Wadell. I see online that outside the Herbenger Theater Center there are several other pieces of his in dance poses but not the one you show us.
Like Susan, I too would like to see the full length image but your revised image well addresses the background issue. #11011700

Peter, that is the location for these shots, so it's probably his work. You can see the full length shots on my blog. #11011728

Your revised version is beautiful, Dale. I would give it a little more space at the top so she could raise her head. You did a great job with the light. #11011771

Thank you, Susan. Is this enough? #11011796

Yup, Susan's suggestions worked well to turn this okay shot into a nice image. Great work! #11011805

I think that's enough, Dale. Did I tell you how much I like it? :) I love it. #11011819

I hardly need say I am a 'leave it alone' school of never-second-guess someone's intent but humble pie I eat gladly. The revised version as per Susan's suggestion re headroom is absolutely adding to the image. Now when I look back at your original image Dale the title could be "Ouch!I bumped my head on the frame". :0) #11011827

Thank you, Jeff. There is no beating a club like this when it comes to raising one's skill level. Don't know what I'd do without all you guys.

Susan, thanks so much for the assistance on this image. I like your suggestions very much.

Peter, thanks for the support. And I like your title. Very fitting! :o) #11011916

Interesting subject and title, Dale. I agree that the bg in the original is quite distracting and the edited images are improvements.. #11011980

Nice progression and great suggestions well executed. I think the final post is far superior to the other two and makes for a very good photo. #11012106
