Waiters Waiting to Wait

Uploaded: March 11, 2014

Description

----
As part of my assignment (volunteering) as the "candids" photographer for the Southeast Pennsylvania American Red Cross Annual RED BALL gala fundraiser, I was asked to get shots of the setup activity.
-----
The gala event took place in the "Please Touch Museum," a HUGE venue, and the Ball used every square inch on two floors. The building had served for many years as the Philadelphia Art Museum, until that museum outgrew the space.
----
I may post a few photos from the actual event.
----
The waiters were dressed all in black; and they had black hair and dark skin tones. This was a big challenge in poor light (and it got worse once the event began...in darker rooms with RED LIGHTING!)
-----
I worked from 4:30 to Midnight, and if it had NOT been for my Spinlight360 flash diffuser, it would have been a failure for me. I have no stock in that company, but that diffuser has NOT let me down--EVER!

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/200 seconds, Flash: fired, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 1000, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 28.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark III

When I have a main event-type assignment, I have taken to getting a single shot of myself. In such events, there's usually a good mirror--if only in a rest room! In this case, it was a no brainer. I was walking down a long ramp "through the looking glass" on the way to Wonderland. #1566422

No idea about that diffuser you speak of, but it obviously did a great job for you here. Such happy guys. Really hard to be a good waiter and retain this kind of spirit on top of that. #10998022
