CHICAGO MIDNIGHT

Uploaded: December 09, 2013

Description

I had an urgent job request in Chicago last week. Although I brought my camera gear with me just in case, I was tied up at work until late at night. So I explored inside the hotel where I was staying after work. It was around midnight. A man in his deep thought sitting alone in the elevator area caught my eye. I tried to photograph him discreetly hoping he doesn't notice me and nobody would interrupt his solitude. Before I finished setting up my camera, another man came into frame, sat on the right and started browsing his smart phone. I preferred if the man in thought was left alone at first but the result seems to emphasize his isolation more.

And I think the tones you've chosen also accentuate the isolation. Really well done, Alex. #1555422
