Description

Indian side of an international border...at an altitude of 15,600 ft. this is the scene during the peak summer. The soldiers on duty here throughout the year, need to spend the extremely harsh winter in this region with the temperature going down 30 to 50 degrees(C)below zero.

What a harsh place to do duty! I can relate to the temperatures as well as the altitude. Although I am only at 4400 feet now, I visited Tibet and we were at that high altitude. It is hard to do any activity in that thin air. #10917050
