So good to see images from you again Lisa. You always surprise us.

I love the boldness of the color and contrast of this image. I've shot a lot of graffiti, but have not seen this style in California. Where was this taken?

Critique wise, my only suggestion is to correct the horizontal perspective and then on the result, do a minor distortion correction on the lower right corner to level the resulting sidewalk area. #1552305

Cool graffiti shot, Lisa! #10897265

Now, Dale, who says the sidewalks are always straight? #10897385

What a wild scene. Great capture of these bold colors. It does not bother me as shown, but like I say I am directionally challenged so it probably will improve with Dale’s recommendation. #10897400

Oh no! Horizontal tilt! I still remember trying to straighten my night market shot you were helping me with Dale. As soon as I try to straighten a photo everything goes crooked for me. It's like trying to hang a painting on a wall by yourself. I took this shot in Alexandria, Egypt back in February. The people in the city were angry and it came out in lots of graffiti. #10897495

We don't see too many photo-journalism submissions in this group. The back story really changes the way I look at this picture. Those football[soccer] riots back in January were significant political events in that country's history.

I think this image needs a news headline style title. It could be as direct as "rage" but the graffiti itself seems to me to communicate "suppression". #10897504

The anger really does come out in this street shot. Maybe we should have a challenge with street scenes one of these days. Graffitti is a lot of fun to capture. And as Dale said, it is good to see you posting again, Lisa.

Street scenes would be a good challenge, I agree. I like your idea to change the title, Stephen. The graffiti felt very ominous to me; not an empty threat under the circumstances. #10898148

That is some serious graffiti, it does look very angry. #10899065

Fascinating Lisa! This graffiti, as others have indicated, makes a strong statement. It is far beyond the somewhat mindless gang-inspired 'tagging' that defaces public bridges and buildings.
And Jeff, you beat me to it; our resident flat-earthist would even have us level those wonderful hill streets of San Francisco. You know, the ones where they advise parking with your wheels turned against the kerb; your emergency brake hard on and maybe even a brick behind the back wheels. #10899347

Susan Williams November 15, 2013

Bold capture, Lisa! This wasn't done on the fly like most graffiti. The stance comes through loud and clear. #10899455

serious graffiti for sure. this is a great capture with everything that is going on over there. I wouldn't change anything. but write a few thoughts to go with this image in your journal you think you will remember but trust me you won't. great shot #10899719
