Upper Gulmarg, situated in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir at the western extremity of the Himalayas in a subsidiary range called the Pir Panjals. Due to its geographic location Gulmarg gets some of the heaviest snowfalls in the Himalayas and the Phase-2 ( 14000-16000 ft.) of Gulmarg where this image was taken from is also the best ski destination in the Himalayas. You can hike up to the Phase-2 but the high altitude will make it very difficult unless you are used to it so the best alternative is to take the Gondola ride .

Beautiful and amazing scenery! (I know I wouldn't want to hike that- I was at that elevation for several weeks in Tibet and the air was THIN!) #10896469Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
